Looks like it's new Pixel season once again.

The 2019 edition of the Made by Google hardware event is set to kick off on Oct. 15, and that means there will be tons of juicy new hardware to talk about. This year, Google took a bit of an oddball approach by, well, telling us a whole lot about the star of the show months before the show even started.

Yes, we know without a shadow of a doubt we will see the new Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones on Tuesday. We even know a decent amount about new features they'll bring to the table. Rather than let everything leak, Google decided to take control of the information firehose this time.

There's still room for surprises at Made by Google 2019, though. Allow us to run down everything we expect to see at the event on Tuesday, as well as a couple of things we mightsee.

Duh: Pixel 4 and 4 XL

Again, this one's a no-brainer. Google has been giving us little nuggets of info about the new Pixel phones for months, because controlling the flow of information is probably preferable to letting leakers spoil everything ahead of time.

Google has already confirmed a square camera bump on the back of the phones, which could either raise ire or be a total non-issue like the bump on the iPhone 11 was. We also know for a fact that the new phones will support gesture-based motion controls, allowing users to swipe their hands in front of the phone to perform actions like skipping songs.

It'll also have a face unlock feature akin to the iPhone's Face ID, though Google claims it'll work differently and better. You can supposedly use your face to unlock the phone from a variety of angles, for example.

We can also use rumors and reports to fill in the blanks around what Google has told us. The two phones will almost assuredly run Android 10 at launch. 9to5Google reported that the Pixel 4 will sport a 5.7-inch display, while the 4 XL is 6.3-inch. The bigger XL phone will also have a better battery, but aside from that, don't expect too many functional differences between the two.

According to the same 9to5Google report, you should expect two rear cameras, 6GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 855 processor. You might also be able to invoke the power of Google Assistant by simply raising the phone and speaking to it. Finally, expect them to be expensive, though we don't have specifics on the prices yet.

New Nest products

Google told us plenty about the new Pixel phones ahead of the event on Tuesday, but other products are still under wraps. Sort of.

Again, 9to5Google has gotten scoops about other things we'll likely see at the show. The diminutive Google Home Mini is reportedly being renamed Google Nest Mini and being refreshed with a couple of enhancements to come with its new branding.

Expect better speaker quality as well as a built-in wall mount and a 3.5mm audio jack. In a world where the 3.5mm jack is slowly dying, that's a welcome sight.

Additionally, don't be surprised if we see a new Nest Wifi router that can connect to additional Assistant-enabled beacons to set up a mesh wifi network in your home.

A new Pixelbook?

Google's Pixelbook laptop launched around two years ago and got a rave review from Mashable, but Google has yet to refresh that particular product line. According to yet another 9to5Google report, we can expect a new update to Google's in-house Chromebook, though it might not be what you think.

Rather than launch a Pixelbook 2, it sounds like Google is going in a slightly more portable-friendly direction with something called the Pixelbook Go. It seems to be a more traditional Chromebook than the first Pixelbook, with a 13.3-inch display that can go up to 4K resolution in more expensive models.

Additionally, the processing power, RAM, and internal storage will all depend on how much you feel like paying. We'll likely know more next week.

New Pixel Buds?

Finally, it's probably about time for Google to update the Pixel Buds earbuds it released in 2017. That's exactly what will happen at Made by Google 2019 according to a report from, you guessed it, 9to5Google.

The first Pixel Buds connected wirelessly to devices, but had a wire between them. With the true wireless earbud competition heating up between big-name companies, we wouldn't be shocked if the new Pixel Buds looked more like AirPods than their 2017 predecessors.

Seriously, everyone is getting in on this trend. Amazon recently announced Echo Buds, while Microsoft is jumping into the fray with Surface Earbuds. There are even rumblings of a new, noise-cancelling AirPods variant coming soon.

If you've been holding off on buying wireless earbuds because of loyalty to a brand that hasn't released any yet, you're probably jazzed right now.

Anyway, those all seem to be fairly safe bets to show up at Made by Google 2019. Google doesn't seem especially interested in surprises this year, which could all be a big smokescreen for some massive reveal none of us could have seen coming. The only way to find out is to watch on Tuesday.
